Hi all! I hope you enjoy En Guard. Read the newspost for further information.

Thanks for the comments CorruptHardware: Thanks for the comments, it is somewhat inspired by the Order of the Stick, that sort-of breaks the fourth wall in its first comic too. Any advice to improve it (apart from not repeating the 4th wall thing for a while)?

Pac20041234: Thanks :)

Apelord69: Eh???

Pac and Apelord are RL friends, if anyone is interested.

Very nice First panel made me chuckle, which is always good.

Waht's the fourth wall? And how many are there?

Z-Axis, 16 Dec 2006 11:31 am

The Fourth Wall Sorry your query remained unanswered for so long, but the fourth wall is the imaginary wall between the characters and the audience, based theatre/images where a room would have an imaginary, invisible, fourth wall in addition to the other visible three around the actors.

The term breaking the fourth wall means the characters acknowledge they are in a work of fiction, be it film, play, comic, or possibly even book.

I broke the fourth wall in the first two panels with the comments on the space scene.

1 Only thing that's a bit confusing is how the word bubbles in the bottom left panel overlap. It's not immediately clear who's speaking in the last one.

Then again, a.) this is your first page and b.) I've mucked around with comic layouts enough to know that word bubbles are vicious bastards that ruin everyone's fun.
