ATTENTION ALL CITIZENS

AIRLOCKS ARE WASTEFUL

It is not your duty to leave this ship, and airlocks only encourage such foolish behaviour. All airlocks have been removed in this sector to discourage frivolous use of the Emperor's void suits.

The new void-doors are guaranteed airtight when closed. If a leak is detected, burn candles near the door and alert the nearest Techpriest.

Any citizen who opens a door will be shot. Do not suffocate before justice has been carried out. Any citizen who suffocates before being shot will be shot twice.

THE EMPEROR PROTECTS.

Lol I think i would have kicked him out.

T1868 (Guest), 08 Dec 2008 05:40 am

i would hve shot him and blamed it on the tech-priest

and thankyou for the little word bubble of encouragement.

Z-Axis, 08 Dec 2008 06:05 am

'Eyyy, thanks!

Battlefleet Gothic players might recognise the Mars class battlecruiser, albeit with cargo holds placed in front of most of the guns and fighter bays. This is because I knew I would be hunted down and killed if I postponed the comic any longer to construct an entirely different spaceship ;)

Why is the ship so similar to the Mars? ONLY TIME WILL TELL.

ELnicko (Guest), 09 Dec 2008 11:02 am

It makes sense that since they have landed nose down that they are walking on a wall instead of the floor, how they did not notice I will never know, but why is the sign about the airlocks sign still right side up? Or is it that all space craft are configured so that their floor is twords the bow?

Z-Axis, 10 Dec 2008 09:41 am

In my head, the artificial gravity in the ship is still working, so while on board the ship, the floor is still 'down'.

The Captain, though, has been pushed out of the artificial gravity, so now the plane'ts gravity is going to pull him down towards the floor - from the adjutant's point of view, he's going to start falling sideways.

That explanation might not be very clear, so here's an illustration of how floors and gravity are arranged:

Now then, from that picture, I realise I've probably done the shading wrong. Oops.

T1868 (Guest), 11 Dec 2008 03:32 pm

i could care less which way is up or down as long as he goes splat

Z-Axis, 17 Dec 2008 03:51 pm

So, the other Smackjeeves 40k comic, Commissar: Kill That Man, has just come back from a huge hiatus. Reading it would be... sensible, citizen.

I think people care more about the actual story and comic, than the quality of the art. Otherwise you're going to be spending a month on each comic, by which time people will stop checking their bookmarks.

Z-Axis, 20 Dec 2008 07:09 am

Advice taken, Concerned Citizen (Gordon Frohman?) - my plan for the next one won't require much messing about in Blender, anyway.

Next comic may appear some time this weekend.

Kais246 (Guest), 06 Jan 2009 06:15 pm

OMG LIES!!!!!11one!

lol

I think Frohman is right, arts nice but actual work being submited is more important in my opinion.

Z-Axis, 10 Jan 2009 04:22 am

I quite agree, which makes the exams even more vexing.

Thankfully, they're over on Tuesday. Apologies to everyone who is still waiting ;)

Rutskarn (Guest), 31 Jan 2009 04:47 pm

13 Now, see, we just NOW this isn't gonna be the end of it.

t1868 (Guest), 02 Feb 2009 05:58 am

ive been thinking sabout this comic. x-axis i swear to god if you make this current comic a scrubs flashback i will wHip you with a power whip, yes they have those.

WE WANT BLOOD!

Z-Axis, 03 Feb 2009 02:07 pm

This weekend... blood may be seen. It may not.

Flashbacks definitely won't be. 13 comics... far too early to do a flashback, especially at the rate I post stuff.

(Unrelated note: I'm also going to recolour the doors in this strip, since the bright orange is, well, bright.)

Apart from that... yay, comments from Rutskarn! Thanks for going through and commenting all the strips :D

Rutskarn (Guest), 09 Feb 2009 09:41 pm

Seemed equitable.

t1868 (Guest), 16 Feb 2009 06:39 pm

blood....bloood...BLOOD FOR THE LAZY GOD!

Z-Axis, 24 Feb 2009 04:38 pm

This weekend, there will be BLOOD.

... there may also be a new En Guard.

T1868 (Guest), 08 Mar 2009 08:48 am

Ultimatium (Bringin back some good ol' T1868 motivation)

Ahem...IF YOU DO NOT GET A NEW COMIC UP IN 2 WEEKS I WILL CALL EXTERMINATUS ALL OVER YOUR BACKSIDE!!

][Inquisitorial Mandate 1868][

Z-Axis, 08 Mar 2009 12:00 pm

Movtivated! Don't press that button!

Agouri (Guest), 18 Mar 2009 08:15 am

Good work Nice job ripping off OOTS' style of drawing

And no ciaphas cain reference = no fun. You cant have fun in the 41st millenium without Ciaphas.

t1868 (Guest), 19 Mar 2009 06:46 am

3...2...1...APOCOYLPSE!

weelllll im sorry it came to this but you need to hurry up.

Z-Axis, 03 Apr 2009 05:05 pm

Hopefully not 'ripping off'? That sounds rather negative...

Ciaphas Cain, awesome as he is, will likely not show up in this comic.

Speaking of which, the holidays are here so I should be able to draw some En Guard, with a little luck...

Kais246 (Guest), 23 Apr 2009 02:47 am

Erggh Yeah i must say your doing a good job at keeping up to date so far....

t1868 (Guest), 04 May 2009 03:44 pm

for god sakes man give us something!

Asbjørn (Guest), 17 Jun 2009 10:24 am

Your comic rocks. I do play warhammer and i think this is warhammer worth

Asbjørn (Guest), 22 Jun 2009 12:55 am

could you maby make some more battles?

asbjørn (Guest), 28 Jun 2009 02:26 am

how often do you make a new page

asbjørn (Guest), 03 Jul 2009 12:29 am

i think you should take a look at this soon

Z-Axis, 05 Jul 2009 05:40 am

Er, oops?

Asbjørn, the comic updates... well, rarely is perhaps the most accurate way to describe it. Sorry about that. (Also, thanks for the kind words).

t1868, I intend to do just that... but you've probably stopped reading this long ago, so whatever.

Kais246, I know, right?

T1868 (Guest), 14 Jul 2009 10:31 pm

I'm still kicking I'm still here I just need to see some updates or atleast progress. Don't make me do more motivation!

Asbjørn (Guest), 18 Jul 2009 01:27 am

Okay. And which country are you from since you can write ø

t1868 (Guest), 18 Jul 2009 11:00 am

copy and paste land?

Z-Axis, 20 Jul 2009 05:40 pm

Asbjørn, I'm in England. I can write ø by copying the character either from your post or from the character map in Windows (presumably most operating systems have an equivalent?)

Setting to work on the new comic... (and wow, I'm impressed at your resolve T1868 :D)

asbjørn (Guest), 21 Jul 2009 12:40 am

ok

asbjørn (Guest), 21 Jul 2009 12:44 am

do you play warhammer

Z-Axis, 22 Jul 2009 01:19 pm

Yeah, but rarely at the moment. I play Imperial Guard.

(Unless you mean Warhammer Fantasy, in which case no... 40k is expensive enough as it is)

T1868 (Guest), 22 Jul 2009 11:41 pm

Glad to here progress. I ussaly check this every 2 or 3 days but now that progress is beeing made I will be checking in more frequently. Keep up the good work and thanks.

Z-Axis, 28 Jul 2009 01:31 pm

Sorry about the lack of comic; the power supply on my computer broke preventing anything comic-related from happening over the last few days. The update's still coming!

Asbjørn (Guest), 30 Jul 2009 02:07 pm

So.... imperial guard huh? they´ve got a new codex, is it good?

T1868 (Guest), 24 Aug 2009 11:07 am

So UH Hows that progress comen along?

Asbjørn (Guest), 05 Sep 2009 02:23 am

man make something!

Asbjørn (Guest), 09 Oct 2009 11:36 am

Goddamit are you even looking here anymore?

Shas aia Toriia (Guest), 19 Oct 2009 05:52 pm

I doubt it. Leaving us out here, cold, alone, starving.
Its downright cruel is what it is.

Asbjørn (Guest), 26 Oct 2009 10:20 am
